TB4 – Tripod Beta Incident Analysis ENGLISH (online)

TB4 – Tripod Beta Incident Analysis ENGLISH (online)

24 + 26 + 28 + 31 Jan and 01 Feb 2022

About Tripod Beta – Developed in the early 1990s, Tripod Beta is an incident analysis methodology designed in line with the human behaviour model. It was explicitly created to help accident investigators model incidents in a way that allows them to understand the influencing environment and uncover the route of organisational deficiencies that allowed that incident to happen. Read or hear (video) more about Tripod Beta here >>

Knowledge Assessment – As part of this training you will get up to 3 attempts at the Knowledge Assessment for accredtiation for Bronze Tripod Beta Practitioner. See more about Tripod Beta accreditations here >>

Training strategy – This training is delivered through 5 days of each: 2 hours online presentation by the trainer, followed by 2 hours self-managed homework in groups (no trainer present). At the end of each day each group sends the homework to the trainer, allowing targetted preparation of the training for the following day. During the daily session with the trainer there will be time for interaction and discussion about how to use Tripod Beta ‘at home’ in your organisation. The Knowledge Assessment will be on the 6th training day, with individual timings.

Training material – The manual “Guidance on using Tripod Beta in the investigation and analysis of incidents, accidents and business losses” (called “the manual”) will be used as basis of the training. The manual will be supplied to participants as electronic books/files. Training slides will be used in the online sessions. Selected slides will be shared with participants, as electronic files, allowing them to print and take personal notes.

Your Trainer – is Lisbeth Holberg. She has been involved in 40+ investigations, primarily in high-risk activities such as offshore oil&gas and wind farms. She has been an accredited Tripod Beta trainer since 2013. Read more about Lisbeth Holberg here >>

Number of participants – There is a maximum of 6 participants in this training.

Training outcome – After this training, participants are able to:

  • Use Tripod Beta methodology to analyse simple incidents in their daily work.
  • Support their organisation in use and implementation of Tripod Beta.

FREE access to follow-up sessions – For continuing support to the participants, it is free to join the online follow-up sessions which are held every 2 months. Here you can send in a Tripod Beta analysis, dilemma, question or something else they are struggling with, get some overall feedback on e-mail, and in the online session there will be a presentation of selected topics based on the cases sent in by participants. It is a 2-hour online session. See the training calendar for specific dates & times.

Audience – This training is intended for everyone who is involved in the investigation of safety or quality related incidents, for example managers of safety critical operations & projects, safety experts and incident investigators. Persons who otherwise contribute to or are recipients of incident investigation will also benefit from this training.
